热作模具用途广泛,工作条件差别大,制造模具的材料范围很广。目前,冲压模、塑料模、压铸模、粉末冶金模的材料以钢为主,有些模具还可采用低熔点合金和非金属材料等。

热作模具钢是制造热作模具(热锻模、热顶锻模、热挤压模和压铸模等)的金属材料。该类模具在工作时与热金属接触,模腔表面会受热升温300~400℃(热锻模)、500~800℃(热挤压模),甚高达1000℃左右(压铸模)。由于热作模具工况条件非常恶劣,是在非常苛刻的条件下工作的,如承受各种应力及金属熔液对模具工作表面的溶蚀,在工作中反复受到炽热金属的加热和冷却介质(水、油、空气)冷却的热循环交替作用。
Hot work die steel is the metal material for manufacturing hot work dies (hot forging die, hot top forging die, hot extrusion die and die casting die, etc.). When this kind of die is in contact with hot metal during operation, the surface of the die cavity will be heated and heated to 300 ~ 400 ℃ (hot forging die), 500 ~ 800 ℃ (hot extrusion die), or even up to about 1000 ℃ (die casting die). Because the working conditions of hot working die are very bad, it works under very harsh conditions. For example, it bears various stresses and the corrosion of metal melt on the working surface of the die. 当炽热的金属放入热作模具型腔时,型腔表面急剧升温,表层产生压应力和压应变;当金属件取出时,型腔表面由于急剧降温而受到拉应力和拉应变作用,极易产生热疲劳等,因此要求模具材料具有高的热强度、高温硬度、冲击韧性、淬透性和好的热稳定性和抗冷热疲劳性能等。总之,要求热作模具有良好的综合力学性能。
When the hot metal is put into the hot working die cavity, the surface of the cavity rises sharply, and the surface produces compressive stress and strain; When the metal parts are taken out, the cavity surface is subjected to tensile stress and strain due to rapid cooling, which is very easy to produce thermal fatigue. Therefore, the die material is required to have high thermal strength, high temperature hardness, impact toughness, hardenability, good thermal stability and cold and thermal fatigue resistance. In short, the hot working die is required to have good comprehensive mechanical properties.
